Caleta de Famara-Lanzarote

Located on the North-west coast of Lanzarote, the place called “Famara” consists in two parts: the urbanization Bungalows Playa Famara below the cliffs and on the other side of the beach the fishing village of La Caleta de Famara.

The Playa Famara holiday bungalows were the first in the history of Lanzarote. Today their gardens of more than 1.000 m2 have become a luxury which is difficult to find elsewhere.

The founders of the urbanisation where Norwegian people and in this day and age there are still a few bungalows owned by Norwegian families who love Famara and her so impressive cliff.

The residents of the island use to call the urbanisation “The Norwegian” (Noruegos in Spanish) but they name it as well as the “half-moons” because of the peculiar build.

The complex has a small supermarket, a small massage centre, and of course our reception which is open all year.

Caleta de Famara is a little fishermen’s village, where you find 5 to 6 restaurants with excellent fish and seafood among other specialities, small supermarkets, surf/kite and SUP-paddle shops and schools, together with a socio-cultural centre with a children’s playground among other services, at only 1,5km distance in car, or 15 minutes’ walk on the beach, from our resort.

The little dock of Caleta de Famara is really romantic at night and has a quiet beach apt for swimming.

And finally for the little ones, there is also a small beach at the end of the village, called by the resident “La charquita”, where children can play and enjoy the sea in a safe environment.
