8th annual Saborea Lanzarote Food and Wine Festival- the Canary Islands’ biggest gastro fair

24th and 25th November in Villa de Teguise.

The Festival brings together catering professionals, not only from Lanzarote but from all over the Canary Islands and Spain, to give residents and tourists a taste of their delicious cuisine and culinary treats in a celebration of local produce.

Saborea Lanzarote provides Artisans, producers, agribusinesses and wineries the perfect opportunity to show off their goods and use their specialist knowledge to promote the island’s cuisine and culture.

There is a packed programme of events organised in different areas:

Aula Saborea Lanzarote: a diverse range of workshops, talks, competitions, tastings and cooking shows will be held here, at the hand of chefs, master cheesemakers and expert winemakers from the island – many of them from the Lanzarote Cocina collective.

Aula Chinijo Chef: here the youngest members of the family can experiment with cooking and have a great time learning fun recipes. They will be accompanied by young cooks who will teach them how to make the most of their cooking skills.

The Aula del Gusto is a space given over to the enjoyment of the culinary creations of the best chefs from the Canary Islands and from the mainland, among them some who have participated in previous editions: Ángel León, Paco Pérez, Pepe Solla, Marcos Morán… Master classes are combined with wonderful tasting sessions from these artists of the kitchen.

Área Gastro Market: this area is dedicated to different stands – restaurants, wineries, artisan makers and producers from the island will offer visitors their best products and a wide gastronomic offer, all washed down with Lanzarote’s unique, excellent wines.

Casa del Producto Canario (House of Canary Island Produce), Museo Spínola. The Museo del Timple, in the heart of Teguise, will host activities that promote the consumption and knowledge of the Canary Islands’ gastronomic jewels. This space is divided into the Wine Tunnel, Cheese Tunnel, Product Workshops and Canteen for wine and food tasting sessions.

The Saborea Canarias marquee is not to be missed as it will host stands presided over by 9 restaurants, all of which will be giving cooking demonstrations and offering visitors samples of their carefully selected dishes that range from traditional fare to creations with innovative twists.

We are delighted to have Saborea Spain back for another year with their stands offering visitors the chance to sample the superb regional cuisine typical of the Spanish cities of Cambrils, Seville, Trujillo and Vinaròs.

We will also be holding the Local Amateur Cooking Contest in which amateur chefs from each of Lanzarote’s 7 municipalities will compete by showing off their culinary skills and preparing their own dishes in front of a demanding panel of judges.
